Main logo for Interrupting Pathways to Mass Violence event
What
Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County organized an event to bring the issue of fun violence and what preventative action can be taken to the people in charge within the city of Fort Worth.
Why
The Interrupting pathways to Mass Violence event required an even symbol that appropriately conveyed what the event is about but could still work as a logo to be applied on various ephemera.
How
Initially we tried a version of this logo with a single person, but the client really liked this direction we tried with 3 people total, and one 'disintegrating' representing life's hardships and people around us succumbing to them.

Final Writeup
Mass shootings are more frequent and deadlier than ever. For this reason, Recognize & Rise, a public awareness initiative of the Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County, along with United Way’s One Second Collaborative and One Safe Place, hosted a vital conversation and educational event called “Interrupting Pathways to Mass Violence” on March 1, 2023.
Drs. Peterson and Densley, renowned researchers and authors of The Violence Project, shared their findings about an individual’s road to mass violence and how to prevent it. Rather than focusing on a single solution, a comprehensive systemic approach that examines and responds to root causes at the individual, institutional, and societal level is essential.
The J.O. team collaborated to make the event a success by creating event branding and strategy, formal and email invitations, social media messaging and graphics, and additional event collateral. J.O. also connected Mental Health Connection with news outlets and local government leadership to spread the word about the gathering. With standing room only, nearly 200 community leaders attended this monumental educational event in the hopes that this conversation will inspire a coordinated effort to bring about the necessary change. Press coverage was received by NBC5, Fort Worth Report, and various other online news and social outlets, reaching a potential audience of over 2 million with actual 24,000 views.
